"I watched Michelle Obama skip the inauguration. I heard Caroline Kennedy mince no words in calling her cousin a predator. Both of those women stood on the world stage and declared what they would not put up with. They are clear in what they stand for, and they show courage in upholding their values."
I’m likely going to be in Facebook jail soon because I keep Reporting MAGA posts. They took down one of my posts talking about the insurrection on Rachel Maddox feed no less for bullying because I said how disappointed I was in the pardon of all those criminals and the MAGA population went crazy.
I have had so many censorship warnings and lock outs from FB. It's unbelievable to me with the actual hate and disinformation on that platform. No more excuses for me about why I need to stay, my business, my friends, my global community. Like you I'm a taking a stand, although I'll be a drop in their bucket. I am leaving IG too. I will leave behind 4000 followers and "friends," many who likely would not attend my funeral. lol. After the "announcement" while wearing a $900.000 watch paid for with our data, I was DONE. I left a post where to find me, and soon that will be gone. I came over here about two months ago and I am SO happy that I did. Real connection. Real content. NO ADS! No algorithms. I have prayer I say every day, "Please Goddess, keep Substack out of the hands of greedy billionaire tyrants. Please." Nice to meet you and I look forward following you.
Take that feeling of calm as a sign you are taking a stand on what you believe in. Things outside your own ability to change and you allow to upset your balance will continue to do so.
Yes, speak up and take a stand. Just know why it's important to you.👏😉
"For the past couple of years, I’ve carried a handwritten 3 x 5 card in my journal. It’s what I call my Standards of Integrity, and includes: Integrity. Courage. Dignity. Equity. Compassion."
I spent my post yesterday on the same thing and the reaction was "well why not leave Facebook then". My response was that BlueSky has it's own issues and that "illegitimae non carborundum"- I was banned completely for 6 months because I posted a "brainy quote" by Ray Bradbery from Faireinheit 451. This oversight merde isn't new. And, like I said to them was to remember how Sukerbutt started Meta: rating girls at Harvard by the nerd squad: something that *might* get them banned these days
Yes, I deleted my fcbk, insta, threads and am in process of canceling my amazon prime account soon- I'm copying my past orders so I can search other places to get same products. Books are easy to source elsewhere, often at lower prices- Thrift Books, Good Reads and others. Lending local businesses my money gives me a degree of peace of mind vs. feeding the billionaire meta owners. I work part time at a kitchen boutique. The same owner also owns a stationary/gift shop, sustainable/eco friendly products shop and a corner with tourist info and state gifts for our area. I try to just do one day as best I can, being as kind as possible, realize everyone is slightly on edge if not abjectly sad right now. My son lost his job due to frump= tuck frump...... I also recommend Substack to keep up with things and do not watch TV news. Your mental health and heart matter. Save your energies to resist and help others.
With apologies for semi-plagiarism to Hemingway -- "How does democracy die? Slowly, then all at once." Thanks for this post, Kaarin. I think you're speaking for many of us. ~Adrienne
BRAVE Q: How will I show up?

Christine, thank you for phrasing it so articulately and succinctly. I think it's my new daily question.
Yes: how now?
I’m likely going to be in Facebook jail soon because I keep Reporting MAGA posts. They took down one of my posts talking about the insurrection on Rachel Maddox feed no less for bullying because I said how disappointed I was in the pardon of all those criminals and the MAGA population went crazy.
Don't worry. We'll bail you out!😏
Posted on FB and restacked. 💖

Sheri -- amazing woman! I agree -- I was looking for real connection and have found it on Substack. Take care.
Me too Kaarin, it’s wonderful. An infusion of culture and creativity. 🙏

I love the way you are intentionally putting good energy into the Universe.
This is why i ĺeft FB and Insta and never went on X. Thanks for posting - hopefully it will raise awareness. People just need to get out! Do it!!
The same thing happened to my last 2 political Substack posts shared to FaceBook. My Wellness posts were left. So much for no censorship.
Way to go!!! Thank you!!!
I'm not gonna lie, I pretty proud of you for getting a post taken down.
Ha Ha. If I'd known it would be taken down perhaps I would have written something that would really fry their hair!

Thank you, Adrienne. Your quote -- I love it. It feels so appropriate for the times.
