I'm so glad I got to have a short visit with you at the cabin to experience this oasis for myself. I totally get what drew you there. Although if I had seen those mice and that spider, my scream would have been louder than Hannah's :)

Yea…those mice. They still give me goosebumps. But, it’s the woods — what are you going to do? As a result — one of my superpowers is mice mitigation. I am so good!!

A fantastic piece of writing. I love that you share your bittersweet memories of it. We see cabins and boats and #lakelife on social media and forget life is not perfect. Your honesty is refreshing.
