Kaarin, you two are so brave. I love to snorkel even though it’s been years but a life time ago, before kids, I went with friends to Grand Cayman. We snorkeled & it was beautiful. So you two crossed Scuba diving off your bucket list. Now you can really enjoy snorkeling wherever and whenever. Great read my friend! 🥰
Another pitch perfect post! I love that you and MG tried something new together and realized that maybe you were doing everything you wanted all along.
I love this line: "We didn’t let fear stop us from saying yes, but we also didn’t let “should” stop us from saying no." My father once assessed me in a stunningly accurate way: If I can't be really good at something, I don't want to do it. He was right. We all stick to our comfort zones, our areas of expertise. You are one of the friends I love most because you have pushed me to stick toes, feet -- my whole body on occasion -- outward to do something that makes me uncertain, that I feel I might fail at. Thanks for another beautiful post. And glad scuba diving is something you will never ask me to do, because it terrifies me!
Thank you, Shirley...I will add that if I have ever pushed you to do something that made you uncertain -- in typical Shirley fashion, you showed not an ounce of outward uncertainty. Cool as a cucumber: you.
I love this post. The lesson I'm taking is that learning something doesn't mean have to do it. There is something beautiful about the idea of being okay with gaining knowledge that you may never use. Knowledge for knowledge's sake.
As always, you leave me with lists to think on- even taking out my journal! Beautiful post. Thank you!

Lisa, thank you!

Yep. And also, that "should" doesn't get to stand in the way of joy.
